Four guides, in the order they’re most useful if you’re starting from zero. Each one stands on its own, but reading them in this order means each new guide builds on a term or idea the previous one already explained, so terms like “consensus” or “smart contract” aren’t left undefined when they come up later.
1. The practical question

How to make a crypto coin — the real steps, and the fork between building a coin and building a token. Start here if you’re trying to figure out what’s actually involved before deciding anything else, including the mistakes that most often trip up a first attempt.
2. The distinction everything else depends on

Coin vs. token: what’s the real difference? — why most projects end up choosing one over the other, what each choice costs in effort, control, and security, and whether a token can ever grow into a coin later.
3. The underlying technology

What is a blockchain? — a plain-language explanation of the mechanism that makes any of this possible, including why it’s slower and more expensive than an ordinary database on purpose, and how that tradeoff is the whole point rather than a flaw.
4. Where it all started

When was Bitcoin created? — the history behind the first cryptocurrency, the earlier attempts that didn’t quite work, and why it’s still the reference point for everything that came after.
If you only read one of these, make it the first — everything else here refers back to it.
